I notice the black colouration on the fins are very distinct in juveniles....do they tend to fade when they reach maturity?

Yes they do when reach maturity, but from size , scales can still tell its silver or black aro.

Thanks! Sometime its difficult to recognize a black aro by itself unless you put in a silver to match it.. You can actually see more blue on adult black aro

I have 11 pcs of blacks and 1 pc is 30 inches long. They are distinctly different; between blacks and silvers.

Blacks have slimmer profile and have darkish green base colours with yellowish half moon core on their scales and body less massive from the silvers.

Overall a much better looking fish than the bichirrhosum!!!!!!!!!!!
