Main filtration unit is still through K1.

Enough meh? Your comm looks heavy leh.

How much K1 media are you using? I stopped using that as K1 media takes up quite a lot of space.

Well... My tank is running on 2 compartment IOS configuration, not sure the exact quantity, but it fills up 60% of the compartment. These K1 beads have been in the running for more than 4 years.. hence they are very seasoned.

I do have money plants that helps with the nitrates.

The Key to effective K1 is aeration..... probably better to discuss this part over another thread.

But because of the heavy load... 50% water change twice a week is necessary as well...

beautiful fishes bro , heavy bioload. can share abit more on your filtration system? was actually thinking of doing a k1 mechanical for 1 of my FGTs.
