Common Topics on Shrimp Keeping (NEWBIES START FROM HERE)
I have done a search over 10 pages in AF and list down some of the topics that may be good for new tank setup or new shrimp hobbyist to read up.
Bro Silane, I recall there was one sticky months ago (before database corruption or something) that list down some pointers. Can you provide more guides to fellow shrimp hobbyist and if this thread is relevent, can it be a sticky so pple can gather more info before starting a new thread? Here's the list: Is Soil a Must : http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=328343&page=2 Test Kits http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=327268 Water Temperature (refer to page 3, most info there) http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...=327255&page=3 How to keep a tank cool (temperature) http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=320360 Water Condition/Perimeter http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=326196 Shrimps with Fishes http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=325332 Plants http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=323823 Old Sea Mud http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=322655 CRS Dying http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=322320 Cycling tank and Water http://www.shrimpnow.com/forums/show...565.html?t=565 Anti-chlorine/chloramines http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=320308 Any bros with other good links, pls contribute as well. |

Thank globalcookie for the initiative.
For all, feel free to all to add useful links, refrain from asking question in this thread but at the individual thread itself. Something to bear in mind is, there are some difference between species of shrimps and requirement can be slightly different. Last edited by silane; 31-07-2008 at 04:07 PM. |

Introducing New Plants into Existing Shrimp Tank
Recent discussion (Nov 08) topic regarding sudden deaths of a mature tank with shrimps when new plants were introduced into the tank. Take Note!
Here's Bro Silane's advice See on the plant: http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=346398 I would suggest to soak the plant for a few days and do a few water changes. For now, you can use active carbon to remove the residue toxic, use trustable brands like Sera. Put 3/4 cup into your canister filter. Last edited by globalcookie; 25-11-2008 at 10:01 PM. |
