Help - Panasonic Lumix DMC - FX38

Need help with this camera. Panasonic - Lumix DMC - FX38

I 'borrowed' this camera from a friend. It doesn't come with operating manual.

My problem.........
When I'm taking a photo of the fish, before the actual pic is being taken, a red light will shine on the fish. (only a sec or so)

How do I disable this function?
(Many times when I have a chance of a good shot, the red light will spook the fish.)
