The green water is from algae. If you could get a Aqua UV Sterilizer installed to run your water back to the tank from the water filter, or wet/dry system. Normally, a 25w sterilizer would clean up your green water for 100-180 quallon tank, 5-15 w for anything smaller. Cheers.

Bro,

greenwater can be caused by too much lighting i.e. from sun or from lights.

If you overfeed your fish plus your filter is not big enough to convert the fish waste & food waste, this overloading speeds up greenwater.

Both ways, it is going to cause havoc with the oxygen in your tankwater. Gill curl is the result.

While you are taking steps to combat the greenwater which you have to tackle, please bubble your tank now.

Enjoy.

To clear green water algae, simply shut your lights off only have it on during feeding...avoid direct sunlight, if room has bright lightings just cover your whole tank with a sheet for about 5 days to reduce further algae growth. and a weekly of 30% water change

As water passes through an Ultraviolet Sterilizers, the water is irradiated with high-frequency UV light, invisible light in the blue part of the spectrum. UV Sterilizers are effective in destroying both good and bad free floating bacteria, and disease causing viruses, fungi, microorganisms and parasites. one of the most effective methods for control of disease causing organism and parasites.
