Bro,
Your water turn toxic liao. My advice is to change 50% water for now and about 30% water every 2 days from now for about 2 weeks. btw are you using those carbon filters or black colour sponge for your filter? If you are, remove them immediately. These black colour sponge are carbon sponge. Initially they are good, but over time it becomes saturated with the toxins they absorb and will start spewing them back into the water. once you did not change it for a week, thats it liao. |

What the cloudiness around the eye or on the eye is its actually a infection that has taken hold
It is believed to be bacterial in nature and is sometimes attributed to poor water quality. your fish may probably suffering from the exposure to ammonia and nitrite.Check your water parameters. Especially your nitrates. Makes sure your levels are where they need to. Examine your fish and their behavior. Remember, putting a healthy fish back in an unhealthy environment is not favorable. Eye infections can be difficult to treat, and sometimes take up to a month of treatment. Aquarium salt will help, as will frequent small water changes. I'd also reduce the feeding even more, getting the water quality handled is the best thing you can do for them right now it can take up to a month of antibiotic treatment to clear up a bacterial infection once it is established inside the eye - if the infection remains external, the best way to treat it is to treat the tank with Melafix it is a great product that should help clear up the infection. Just follow the instructions on the back and make sure to do the water change. Im sure you do but i will just remind you that it is very important to keep the water very clean so that infections dont happen to wounds Another alternative is Maracyn or Maracyn-Two. These are very good antibiotics used in the treatment of Body Fungus, Fin and Tail Rot, Gill Disease and Popeye. One tablet per 10 gallons of water every 24 hours Is she eating? - feeding antibiotic-soaked food would be more efficient than adding meds to the water Eye infections are difficult to treat. Hopefully it will clear it up. Good luck to you and your fishy |
