I will go according to manufacturer's instruction. R and D must have been done and that's why specifications on Dosage has been given on the bottle. I would not "act smart" and do otherwise.
I doubt your lfs owner has enuff knowledge to tell you so......At the end of the day, it's your judgement. |

the success in the cultivation of beneficial bacteria in your filteration system based on your filter media, oxygen and food ( ammonia , nitrite & nitrate ) for the bacteria. So there is no hard and fast rule on dosage of bacteria. Anyway, during the start-up , u'll need a higher dosage. A good rule of thumb is to judge the clarity of your water. To further acertain them, check for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate of the water with reliable test kits. Anyway, even if your system is set up and stable, you'll still need to maintan your bacteria population by adding cultred bacteria into your filteration system every week. Have a effective filteration system. Cheers |

Another thing is that these bacteria are sensitive to lights. Do switch them all off when you are applying into tank and try not to switch ont eh lights for afew hours. Why afew hours, just to play safe for my case la.

over dose (i mean really overdose many times more than u should add) of BB solution will or might cause oxygen deficency in the tank water. when oxygen level is low, all fishes will start to gulp air from water surface. might cause side effect to fish. juz add BB solution as what is recommend on the bottle will do. |
