Only used that to anesthesize goldfish. It worked well enough, and the fish recovered back in his tank after about 5 mins back. The problem is, aros are prehistoric fish, and Im not sure how much or how well it'll take it. They are sensitive to modern chemicals. Please ask your local vet or if someone has had experience with that and aros in particular, just in case.

Also, please wear thick rubber gloves when handling this product, and dispose of the water carefully and prudently. It is carcinogenic to humans, be very careful. It can be absorbed through the skin.

Default thanks for the reply

Hi

Just finish doing the oper for the gill operation. This stuff is really not as powerful as it is. I bag the arowana and put the bag in the box and let the stuff go. Half spoon .. the arowana feels i guess dizzy,..but still has not flip over. i guess i used up to 2 and 1/2 teaspoon for it to kick in but waiting and waiting really kills me.

Anyway unfortunely once the arowana was in the box it kick some water and splash into my face and some went in my mouth, i rinse and clean but feel a little dizzy now.

hopefully my arowana will recover well and i won't get cancer from this.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunely before i did the operation, your post came right after i finish. Otherwise i would have worn a plastic face mask and gloves.

It won't give you cancer just from one exposure. Don't worry. Another safer(for both fish & operator) anaesthetic to use is clove oil/eugenol. Check with your fish vet, they would probably stock it.

Hi

Yes I don't think I will get cancer, the instruction never mention about being danger , extra caution beside inhaling the powder.

I observe closely at the operation and realise a tiny piece of the membrane at the jar is hanging. (bad job by me)

any thoughts on what it will look like when the membrane grows back.

I would hate for him to go through this again

thanks
