Hi Ickey! Sorry to hear about your aro man..

Well, more information could really help diagnose what's wrong with your aro.

When did you first notice the "bruise"?
What does it look like? Color? Size?
Where is it located?
Are there any more physical abnormalities observable?
How is his behavior? Swimming? Eating? Appetite?
How are your water parameters?
What's your tank temperature?
When was your last water change?
Does your aro have tankmates?
History of infection with the tankmates? aro?
What are you feeding your aro?

Would you be able to post a picture of the "bruise"? Is it big enough to capture in still photo?

Anyway, we don't really know if it's fish lice, bruise, or any parasitic, maybe fungus infection.. Honestly, from the info you've given so far, it can only be just a bruise - but who knows. These questions will help us make a diagnosis.

Whatever it is, salt bath comes highly recommended. 3-4% Salt bath in a well-aerated bucket should suffice. Administer for no more than 30 mins or whenever your aro stops responding to stimuli and becomes very disoriented in swimming and balance. Be prepared to transfer your aro back into his tank whenever this happens. For the most part, he should remain calm in the salt bath and 20-30 minutes are average of my baths. You should have no problems with it.

Also keep your water parameters at best to keep him stress-free. Do 30% water change if the last water change was over 5 days ago. Add .3% salt into the water change.

Let us know if you have more questions.

Hi ickey, sorry i didn't manage to make the aquarium outing while i was in bali. Had a very tight schedule.

Anyway, a bruise and a fish louse can seem very similar in shape and colour. If you could provide info as what emp has asked for it would be useful. Images are the best.
