Advise needed for Popped Eye Symptom
Hi bro,
This is what happened; Last Friday my Aro vomitted some SW and since loss its appetite. A couple of days ago, she seem wanted to get something out of her throat and were swimming in diff. postures (upside down, 180% & etc), lasted for several minutes until she finally managed to balance herself with much difficulty and finally in normal swimming posture. I though she would have died then. She has both popped eyes now and swimming slower than usual, a little humped swimming posture. Not taken any food since the vomitting incident. She is a 4x2x2 tank and just reduced water to 50% level, added Oceanfree Internal Bacteria yesterday & salt this afternoon. Got advise from local ilf to off the canister and currently using a pump for aeration. Appreciate bros out there for similar encounter and valuable advise to help my aro. Thanks! |

why off the cannister filter? think is water dirty due to vomitting... is your tank cycled? Change water and monitor. Pop eye indicate poor water condition and maybe internal infection. But i guess is your water dirty... because of the vomitted superworm... i will not reduce water because it reduces the amount of water, less room for mistake... furthermore the water will get polluted very fast... since you off the cannister don't on it back because all the bacteria inside MATI liaoz... if on back the water came in contact with your ARo then if severe will cause death... change water... maintain good water quality.... don't trust everything you hear from LFS even me ... double confirm first |

Hi Bro, thanks for the advise.
The canister was switched off as advised by the LFS as it would be more effective for the Oceanfree medicine to take effect. Plan to do ~40% WC every alternate day as water will be polluted. Strongly believed to be internal infection as Aro not eating. (Any other bros pls enlighten) Saw other threads that Jap. Powder seem to be effective and thinking of trying it. Still monitoring the effect of the Oceanfree Internal Bacteria. Can I just add the Jap Powder or what should be done to clear away the Oceanfree medicine before adding the Powder? Thanks! |

Hi,
u can try Pimafix and Epsom salt together ( I got this salt.from fish salt..but labelled as constipation..due to some elling rgts or something..but the fish shop seller says is the same) and do water change every 3 days.. the swell will subside and the eye will be clearer..thats what i tried on my arro..was a real bad case..read from internet..tried like antibiotics like tetracycline and amoxil..doesn'twork at all. last resort check from forum and they adv to read cure for popping eye..see if it works for yours. Good luck. |
