i just modified my skimmer again today. this time I cut off the whole U-tube (transparent part)

well. i wouldnt recommend that the skimmer outlet is below the tank water surface, may just a little, if not you will have problems making the water go back into the tank.

I am also afraid that it will be a problem having the skimmer below the tank.

I was thinking maybe if i put 2 pump with same flowrate at the inlet and outlet of the skimmer.. can this work?

if really bo bian.. i think I will make a sump or something.

Hi, I am considering buying the Weipro WH-4000 pump plus SA-2012 hang on skimmer set. I thought this is a set by itself and you don't need other pump?

User of the skimmer, how effective for marine tank?

I am a user of Weipro 2014, not a bad skimmer for the price. However, would need quite abit of tuning before you can get relatively good skimmate. The best i've managed is a very dark but watery skimmate, have not managed to get a dry skimmate which is probably the most ideal.

Here's a pic of what the 2014 can produce:

what is the different between 2012 and 2014? Anyone with a picture of it hanging outside the tank so that I know if this can fit to my 2 ft tank?

The difference is only in the size of the skimmer. Each size is rated for up to a certain volume of water.

I don't have a pic of it hanging as mine is placed into the sump.

I can't remember the exact model name but its a Rio pump. Think 2000l/hr or 2400l/hr.
