not for this tank.. those are normal plastic quartz.. as cherry/sakura can do well in a region of ph7 and do not need soil to buffer the ph.. soil will do well with crs..

o ok i see.

because me just thinking of whether

to use soil again after a previous disaster

that killed my shrimps due to adding of new soil

soil need to be cycle for at least a month as they will release ammonia into the tank to help cycling process.. it depends on wad type of shrimp u are keep and wad kinda of set up u are looking for..
