questions on eheim
Hi all, i know this is the wrong section to post this, but i need help urgently and i feel this is the fastest place i'll get my reply.
i just bought my eheim 2075 1 day ago with a flow rating of 1250l per hour. however i went to try just now but im only getting a flow rate of about 620l per hour!!!! i only have the bucket inside with no media. i tested the flow rate by filling up an empty bottle and calculating the time taken to fill 1l. then multiply to get an avg rate per hour. can anyone help me. is the canister broken or?? |

did you use a bigger than recommended tubing? like using a connector and linking to much larger hose?
another explanation could be that 1250L per hour is just a theoratical yield and may not be the actual flow rate of the pump since water adds friction and inertia hence slowing it down. however to be on the safe side just check with your LFS which you bought it from. |

I have asked this question to Chan in NA and he said that unlike other brands , when Eheim says its 1000L per hour, it will be 1000 L per hour, even with medias. Actually I am skeptical about this so I am not surprised at the findings of TS at all.
However, if you look at artitcles that recommend flow rates for tanks, the drop in efficiency could be designed in to make sure that the flow is not too much at the outlet. The again, Eheim cost a lot of money, so I think it make sense to get what you paid for. |

bro, do check on ur control valve
usually is u nvr let it to max and hence the slower flow rate the length of the tubing might cause the slow flow rate and also the cleanliness of the internal system |
