Need some advice for my injured aro.

Hey all, i need some advice for my injured qhrtg. Last nite, my aro somehow spotted a small opening of my tankhood (the hole for the piping) and jump thru it and out of the tank. now, still in shock wif minor injuries.

the first scale from the head is like sticking out, but still intact and about half of the length of the anal fin is broken from the body but is still intact held by the soft tissue. ( broken part is inbetween the body and the finnage)

rite now, i'm planning to pluck out the scale and cut off the broken anal fin from the body by cutting the tissue ....to encourage speedy recovery. Or should i just leave it alone and let it heal naturally wif general medications.

Please advice. Thanks so much in advance!

I will leave it and monitor the aro.

If really the scale makes the aro uncomfortable/bleed (worst scenario) the I will take off the scale.

Like what u said, just leave it alone and monitor. When I reached home from work, the aro was at a corner not moving coz i believe it was still in shock and stressed.

But later on the aro kept flicking it body against the walls and everywhere. It seemed to be irritated by the scale on the head and the dangling anal fins. Wanted to leave it but it seemed extremely stressed and it's scaring the tankmates by flicking itself.

So what i did was made it swim around the tank for ten over minutes by using my had to force it to swim till it was tired..... so was I!!!...... slowly grabed it and quickly pull out the scale and the fins... hope I did the correct thing...

Amazingly, it started to swim around and seemd like it was relieved! it even wacked 5 SW!!! this was indeed a pleasent experience! now, just going to watch over it and hopes it recovers in no time.

Thanks bro! was my first time and really learnt a valuable experience.

Lesson learnt:
1. Never under estimate our aro. They can spot the smallest hole n jump thru that! (must cover every single openings)

2. Handling emotions. ( never panick or freakout ) hahaha! was almost to... or feel bad pulling out fins and scales...hahaha! got to be hard hearted... anyways, its jus a fish!! hehe! more like beloved fish.... but still heart pain lar,

3. Handling aros with hand. learnt a way to grab aro without it struggling and further hurting or stressing it..

Guess alot of bro here might be saying they know it oredi... but this was my first time la...hehehe!

Rite now, my aro looks so battered, as though it went for war, but i'm so happy its swimming around and eating like nothing happened.

Will definately maintain good water management... wont let my guard down as yet...
