Question Arro apetite not too gd..

My arro now appetite no gd leh.. pop in 2 of those jumbo sized SW per day... the rest of the SWs, take a few crunches and spit out... dunno why... Parameters ok with PH = 6.0 - 6.5. Gave tank arrovital, bioearth also... Wonder how else to improve appetite, 3 rays under him doing very well, growing fast bcos all the BFs, MPs and SWs whalloped by them.

Now the arro seems to look forward to my once-a-week centipede treat..

An lfs owner suggested putting more blackwater to lower PH but i thot my PH now quite gd liao..

Advise most welcomed.

Starve your aro for a week and observe. It could due to your overfeeding.

Another observation is this:

Everytime i walk near my tank the arro would swim excitedly to me ... my first reaction is that it is hungry and expecting something from me or izit just happy to see me ??

If it is hungry and expecting something from me, then it shld eat the SWs which i drop in right? But it basically plays with the food and spit them out. Even BFs, it will munch a few rounds and spit them out... It only swallows centipede like no tomorrow...

which means to say it will be living on 1 centipede per wk, how to bulk up?

I will not feed it for the next three days just to let the food digest properly.

how big is ur arowana?

do u know that sw very hard to digest?

you can try using baxter de-wormer
let the arowana clear its stomach and the appetite will regain.

do keep us update

For me, I'll starve it for a few days. when it starts to eat, don't feed too much.

How big is ur aro?

i believe during certain period about 14in. Aro will have less appetite for a while if it is alway over fed all the while. live with it. fast for a while (maybe a week) usually it will eat again.

If it not eating after that then need to investigate if there's injury or disease unnoticed before.
