Do a google search and compare the pics.
Metasesarma aubryi aka red apple crab has a red body and pincers except for a small portion of the back which is black. Red claw crab, as the name implies, only the claws are red, the body is black. |

I believe I saw this yesterday in Y618. They are slightly bigger than the vampire crabs right. Still got quite a bit of stock there (last evening, at least).

I m still not sure whether these 2 types of crabs sold at LFS are been labelled wrongly. Both red clawed & red apple crabs look very similar.
I have been keeping my "red apple" crabs for abt 7 mths with a little water and are living well. Have molted twice. I believe mine is red apple. If not i dun think can survive this long. |
