To me, all fish are opportunities. Once they r exposed to fish or shrimp food, they will not choose algae as their main course.

The only way is the starve them.
Thing is, I think there too much for them to munch.... Plus I dun overfeed |

for me, Otto is a nono. they always hit and run. stressing my shrimps further.
i just use melamine sponge and wipe the front and just let the algae grow freely for the 2 sides and back panel. Shrimplets loves to graze on them. |

Won't it cause a mess when using sponge to clean the glass? I always accidentally squeeze the sponge too hard and the dirt collected on it will flow all over the place.

I only clean the front for viewing pleasure...With hands and sponge.
Side and back as a food for my shrimps... |

Personally i have no luck with ottos.
They always die for no visible reason. Used to keep them with CRS by the way. I didn't find they caused harm to shrimps but they will fight for food. Switched to horned snails and found they did a great job only drawback was like what others have said, water was too soft for them and caused shell erosion. |
