Amazon basin
Hi all,

Yes, i agree, but i guess those fishes are even more important to them than us, because if we dont have these fishes we will not die, as for them if they dont have those fishes their whole family will starve

Even Payaras end up on the dinner plate... wonder how they sink in the knife into the L24 skin....

Such fishes so expensive in Asia yet the local of Amazon so easily obtained daily. If they know the price, they will not eat but sell then make more money instead.

Maybe they have try to sell before but cannot fetch good price. If they know the price in Asia, they might laugh at us. Just like common pleco in local can fetch good price in australia. Our guppy command higher price in western countries too.

I guess they cannot sell at high prices due to their abundance... One year ago when the show 'River Monsters' was still on, the host was trying to catch an Arapaima... He caught one, and together in the net was over a hundred plecos....looks like L24,L600 and the Megalancistrus Barrae all in the net. The locals were throwing them back into the river like workers distributing garbage.... shows how many of such rare specimens (to us) there are in their region...
Maybe we can strike a deal with them, trade our food with their Plecos |

Agree bros...
Its food over there or long kang fishes here,wads interesting is how much $$$$ importers make till specimens reach our tanks...i wonder when i pay say 1k for a pdr pup the fisherman there got $5 for da catch??! |
