Ammonia and nitrate is 2 different thing.
If your tank is fully cycled, ammonia will be broke down into nitrite, and then nitrite to nitrate. Get an ammonia test kit to test for your ammonia. |

Ok. Thanks bro.. So my water parameter should have some nitrite and nitrate after my cycle right? By the way, can wc be done during my cycling of tank? Will BB be lost if I do wc?

You ought not to have any nitrite at the end of cycling. There are different people who do different method of cycling. eg different amount of wc needed, and how frequent it ought to be. Just dose some mosura bt-9 after your wc. Remember to use some anti chlorine that removes chloramine too.

Its not a must have, but a good to have product. Since after wc, most of us will dose it to replenish the bb. Im using mostly mosura products including shizhen as my antichlorine. Since they're specially designed for shrimps. Im sure there are people who think otherwise. Its best you read up more

Hello Bro, I am using a simple sponge filter and have the similar environment as yours. I used my existing gex soil and keep a couple of java moss and hardy plants. I used a fan to keep the water cool. I have successfully started with a humble 5 sakuras to currently over a hundred of sakura battalion size. Happy keeping |
