30cm cube tank stand
Hi everyone,
Last night I went around several LFS to find a stand for my 30cm cube tank. To my dismay all those I visited did not carry a stand of that dimension. The smallest one is for 2ft tanks. My cube tank max weight should be about 30kg was thinking of getting a IKEA Faktum Wall cabinet frame. It is suppose to be for kitchen use and treated to be more water resistant. Does anyone use it for their tanks and will it hold? I know that partial board is not the strongest and moisture will significantly weaken it, but for a small tank and for a cabinet that is for kitchen use I am hoping it will be sufficient. All comments are welcome! Thank you! |

What I used last time was a square wooden bar stool that I bought from the neighborhood furniture store. Around $40.

If dont mind a low profile stand this would do fine. Can treat with some woodstain or lacquer etc. I'm using it for a 1ft x 1ft by 1.5ft tank. Very sturdy.
