Red-Tail Payara - Choked to Death

So I had this 3.5 inch red-tail payara, and I was attempting to grow him out. I placed 2 1-inch feeder goldfish in his tank to see if he would eat them. He did. Not satisfied with swallowing one, he tried to swallow the other almost immediately. Choked himself to death.





Cf. River Monsters Season 1 Episode 6 where Jeremy Wade caught a payara in the same situation, ie, choking on his feed.
