Really, the colors are coming in nice! My girl eats Crickets (10 per feeding) and SW (8 per feeding) and Frogs (3 frogs morning meal twice a week). I feed twice a day. In August she was 14cm and now she's 35cm. She doesn't even look at the MP haha.

Nice aro!

Can ask all the laojiaos here whether a full black tank really reduce the shine levels?

I'm currently cycling my very first tank (also full black) and intend to get a juvenile when it is cycled.

I almost think it's all about the lighting. Aros live in dark water and cavernous areas so I don't feel a back tank limits the shine.

I use a Current USA Freshwater Satellite Plus Pro 48" to 60" that outputs 60watts at max, it's actually enough to get 2nd and 3rd scale shades to start shining without tanning.

Maybe some of the more experienced fellas can chime in here but I think a black tank can help but I'm bias...my tank is black on the back with super dark tint on the sides.
