Just saw a sample of a member's aro here. My aro is currently in this stage, ecept that its not as slant/bend as in the pic and the torn fins and tails.

This may provide a clearer picture

Default thanks for trying it........

[QUOTE=xeus04]hI,

Beside the current being turned off, I still have a round plate air stone thats supplying the oxygen. Just checked, the spine istill bended, maybe the current is not the issue either.

Cheers

Bro,

thanks for trying it our ways.

You said your Arowana is 7 inch in a 5ft tank ?? This is another cause ~ sorry to sound like an old grandmother storyteller but it is another reason.

Maybe better to remove it to a 2ft tank for medical treatment instead of treating it medically in your 5ft tank.

Please kindly update us if you don't mind.

Bro,

Not at all, your advice are all greatly appreciate. They are by no means grandmother story. However, appreciate if you could enlight me why its better to treat it in a 2ft tank rather thatn the 5ft lowered water level tank. Cos, afraid that the transfer of the aro will shock the aro if the bend was due to shock.

Cheers

Bro,

smaller 2 ft tank is ideal for medical treatment...better control...initially use same water from 5ft tank. But not for larger fish.

It is also ok to drop your 5ft tankwater level and use it for medical treatment but all your BB is killed by medicine.

Default BB very fragile.......

[QUOTE=xeus04]BB KILLED BY MEDICINE? Wat do you mean?

Bro,

as you probably already know, the BB in your filter and tankwater takes time to establish and will benefit your tank water condition.

But being very fragile, BB is easily killed even during WC (especially with untreated tapwater). During medication, BB colony dies.

It is up to the individual but for smaller fish, some owners remove the fish to a smaller tank for treatment (filling the smaller 2ft tank with the 5ft tankwater). After successful treatment, slowly phase-out the medicine with more of those tankwater from the 5ft tank. Yes, it is troublesome but this way your fish is less subjected to another shock after treatment.

Worth considering it. Plus you get a really good look if the 'bent' is due to tank conditions in your 5ft.

Point to note and it is true.

Sometimes do everything possible, Arowana suffers more and more.

Sometimes do nothing at all, Arowana survives.

True True.
