tail appears to be slightly dropped...is it due to water current? has the condition improved? if aro is feeding & behaving in a normal manner, i suggest u KIV treatment and monitor closely. meanwhile, u may add some epsom salt. Cheers. |

hi bro, thank you for the reply.....aro is feeding & behaving normally......the water current is also not very strong.......I have a power head, 1 pump with 4 outlets (ie. on minimum blow) and the outlets connected to 1 circle type bubbling plate and a 2FT long bubbling tube......
so the portion in red circle is known as drop tail.........seems to me like some injury and does not heal cos there is some black mark at that portion.....by the way, whre can I get epsom salt??? |

if u are in S'pore, u can get epsom salt from Guardian Pharmacy or our Aromedic, Vetduck (btw, he's also a vet by profession. u may wish to seek his advice too. ) Cheers. |

for treatment purpose, u try adding 0.1% to 0.3% of epsom salt. use this to calculate the salt amt : http://www.arofanatics.com/articles....ent=calculator for me, i maintain about 0.05% salt for each water change. but i know some bros dun add salt unless treating illness. |

The reddish area looks like bruising. Your aro might have jumped recently & hurt itself. In this case you'll probably only have to dose with epsom salts & aquarium salt for the time being. It'll probably heal on its own. However you'll need to monitor for worsening of the bruising or erythemic area. If so than you could be dealing with a separate problem. |
