Dropped Scales
Hi all,
my aro suffered a few dropped scales as it leap out and hit itself against the tank cover. What should I do ???? Will it suffer from any secondary infections ??? Please advise. Cheers |

Infection not likely but keep both eyes on that area. Your Arowana is a jumper, please cover tank properly ~ try to find out why it jumps if it is regular. New scales may not form neatly. |

It is normally a calm fish though as the whole tank is always filled with blackwater. So sad that new scales may not form back nicely..... |

Better check why jumpy.....this can become something serious...blind or broken parts...... Cover all sides of tank except front lah ! Check TV and HiFi and other vibrations. Or house insects !!!! |

agree with liquidnoise. maintain clean water & a stress-free environment. u may also wish to check ur water param (esp. NH3/NH4+, NO3, NO2, pH, temp...hot weather these day). the scale should heal in weeks time. Cheers. |

Agree, just keep good water conditions, will heal by itself!
Just to share, my little xBack also jumped last mth and dropped two 5th level scales. Now scales grow back liao. But hor, the new scale no shine wan... Why lidat? If jump somemore & drop more scales, then become rtg liao! |
