The seniors here always mention cover the sides with black paper, cover the bottom of the tank with gravel. Or put the aro in the pond enviroment. Hope this help.

but i thought pond environment, covering up tank and all is remedy for dropsy eye, which looks like the eye is slanting. caused by fat tissues behind the eye perhaps genes as well as other factors.
but i thought pop eye is a medical condition, caused by infection or something? |

Maracyn or Maracyn-Two. These are very good antibiotics used in the treatment of Body Fungus, Fin and Tail Rot, Gill Disease and Popeye. One tablet per 10 gallons of water every 24 hours
Eye infections are difficult to treat. Hopefully it will clear it up. Good luck to you and your fishy |

exopthalmia or pop eye is usually caused by infections from bacteria, viruses and parasites, as well as from water nitrogen supersaturation (gas bubble disease), water quality problems, tumors, internal (metabolic) disorders and nutritional deficiencies. if exopthalmia is of monocular status, its prolly trauma. it'll heal on its own in time if its binocular then a medical evluation of the underlying problem has to be conducted.
