pectoral fin broke

Hi bros
i need your advice whether the broken pectoral fin main bone will grow back or not? the aro is about 6" plus now and i didn't know why it broke? the broken part is near the end of the pectoral fin main bone about 1cm long, so can bros out there advice me how to treat it? tks

best if u have a pic...main bone will grow back but slow...
But for split/tearing ...recover rate is fast..

bro, u have the same problem with me... left 1 cm also.... the other 2/3 break so i cut it away.... then i just change some water, put yellow powder n add heater.... it will grow ( i belive ) but very slow.......

Hi Bro i have experence on my dfi rtg at 3.5 inch when i bought it i didnt notice the pectorial fin one side higher than the other side . I cut it left 2 mm the growing rate it rather fast in 1 month time it reach 1/2 of the uncut one now 3 months unable to differentiate which one i cut before

Dear bros

that means i have to cut out the remaining dangling piece of the main bone to allow the new bone to grow back. The bone is totally broken only left the fins attached dangling, how do i cut it away? must i transquilize it? tks for all advice

thats interesting... only left the main bone. similar to what i am encountering right now. my xback left pectoral fin looked liked 1" kana bitten and the membrane (or whatever u call it) was scraped off, left the main bone and soft bone/tissues. i noticed the soft bones are whittling away but the main bone remains. not sure if it is dead, ie need to cut or leave it to recover. juz happened 2 days ago so now monitoring.

azura, thanks for the words of comfort. the main bone seems to be rotting away but stopped at the healthy part. the other soft tissues/bones are gone and new tissue can be seen to start growing again. amazing... all within 2 days!

the main bone rotted and dropped off. it now looks like it has been cut and some parts are starting to grow back liao

No problem one la. Will recover one la. Mine also kanna before and had already fully recovered. Now it look like nothing had happened before. Your aro still young. Still got lots of room for growth. Just keep it healthy.
