Nano Tank
HEy,
i would first like to thank Steven (lobsterman) for his APP. This tank has no filter and in its experimental stages. 13 watts of light high above. Tank size is about a 6inch cube. 1 drop of trace every week full water change probably. This is Day 2 |

I like the hardscape JS.
Don't do 100% Water changes. Such small valoumes of water leave no room for error. I do 50% Water changes weekly for my 23cm cube, but i'm told i may be pushing it. The hardscape is really really breathtaking. Surround it with HC and that's all you need. If it matures well, hold it so when i get back i'll come over and take a photo for you. |

Hey thanks for the comments Jerome and Bernard,
I forgot to add that the plants used are MM and E. triandra. Sadly, when i bought them, they were not healthy to begin with. I was inspired by a nano over at APC consisting of HC (titled "Rock Garden") but since no CO2 was involved due to money constraints, APP was used. As for the rock scape, i think its flattering to call it breath taking. However, i have to reiterate that i was the prick that took away the remaining small sized rocks at NA. The rockscape comprised an unused rock as well as the shards (again purchased from NA). I had to play around with the rocks and shards before setting it. Personally, i feel that the scape could be better if housed in a slight longer tank. Lastly, its experimental because i haven't gone Co2less for some time so i hope something will come out it |

Andrew,
the big rock is one of the remaining few i took from NA. the small pieces are shards that i purchased subsequently. regards |

JS i'd go with HC if i were you, no sense in spoiling the hardscape with APP.
I understand the constraints but give it a shot if you can. How big is this nano? |

bravo for CO2-less (to be correct NO CO2 injections)
hi,
i must clarify a misconception here....some plants need little CO2 to live and grow...it is a misconception to think/say that these plants dun need CO2... i would say..they dun require CO2 injection (Artificial) and can thrive using CO2 produced by themselves and other living things such as fishes, shrimps (Natural). that's what i am doing with my Natural Aquaria. u need a Carbon source for the plants to make food through photosysthesis. mostly likely, it will come mainly from fishes. errr..i dun see any fishes in your nano tank. Go natural...No CO2 injection, Fertilizers, Filters...= Low cost, Low maintanence(plants need less trimmings so the aquascape last longer!) Good effort. Quote:
