my 17" jar is sick with cotton like tufts on its back. yesterday, i noticed tufts of cotton fungus, so today when i came home from the lfs/school, the jar was already a little bit tilted and the eyes sunken in, kinda slugish. i am currently treating it with maracyn like the store owner said. is that enough? or should i use more stuff? any advice please!!
should i see if it eats? Last edited by umoa; 20-07-2005 at 02:07 PM. |

No harm to increase salt level to 0.3%.

Looks pretty bad. Add anti-fungi medications. And the magic medicine: Salt.
It is contagious. Prepare a Q.Tank if it is not alone. If you have no water test kit, just do a partial water change. Usual I will use the cheapest fungicide I always have on hand - methylene blue. But as advise, do it in a Q.Tank as it changes the pH and water chemistry pretty much. |
