Default Tangs.

For a 5 feet tank, if i want to include 6 tangs, like for example purple, yellow, sailfin, powder blue, sohal and maybe brown tang, will the one that was already in the tank for quite some time aim at one of those new ones that was added? Cas i knew that 6 or more tangs can prevent agressive fights. Or does this theory only applies on all of the same species? Like if purple tang, all 6 are purple tangs?

Heard that Sohal tang is highly territorial and aggressive, so u might want to avoid housing it with other tangs. Some fish might be getting along well with others when young but when grown up to adult size they can be a threat to its inhabitant. So it's difficult to predict...

From what i know, the current Tang would show aggressiveness to the new comers. The trick would be to distract the current Tang using a mirror so it would attempt to attack its own image and divert its attention from the new comer. Another tip is to add them in order of aggressiveness, with the most aggressive being the last Tang.

i agree. sohal should probably be e last one to be added, but once its settled down... it can possibly injure e rest of e tangs. try with caution

tangs, my favourite.
i once posted to www.wetwebmedia.com and best not too. i too have 5ft aquarium.

here is my experience. yellow tangs are the most. Yellow tangs cannot accept any one of the small shape. purple of yellow. the smallest yt whack all my larger YT then came later. I placed 2 of the YT in container for the YT small to see. the resident tang swam here and there to fight with the other YT but the plastic container separated them. but when harressment cease, and after release, 1 by 1 YT die.

YT does not bother other tangs so much but when i intro sohal, there was fight for hierarchy but short. but my regal tang brought the death of sohal together with itself
