A easier way to answer your questions would be to search exisiting threads.

For example, you can try looking for Key Word(s): gill, curl, reason ; Forum: Arowana Discussions or AroMedics Board and child forums

it would give you the following results

http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/se...earchid=690360

Or you can try using other more appproraite search words if u feel that the above does not really answer any of your questions.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Bro.

I experience it on my fish when my tank water is dirty. Then I do a water change 50% and it does not cure. But this few days of rain has caused my water temp. drop to 26 degree C and the curl gill return back to normal. Try not to add heater and observe. The cool water will soften the gill soft membrane.

Cheers.

try changing to a larger tank. inapropriate tank size is also one of the factor.

hi bro,the rule of thumb is the small the tank the frequent the maintainence, the larger the tank the less(but depend on your bio-load).me also now trying to cure the gold that was given by my uncle by w/c 30% to 40% every 3 days, add salt n heater(cold weather).it could be your water parameters or tank size.remember to add anti chlorine during water change.

Bro,

Just remove the heater may help to solve your curl gill problem cos it just happened when you add heater. But if the curl gill has been for some period of time. Adding salt and change water would not be of help, need operation.

Cheers.
