Default Nick on Pectoral Fin

1. What causes nick (see pic) on the pectoral fin?
2. Why is it more common on reds, and not gold?

hmm........my red also has this "bent" region on both her pec fins symmetrically........do not know the cause though...........need insights from other bros here............but i do find the pec fins with such "bent" regions cool...........the fish looks more majestic........

coz gold usually doesnt hav long pecs, on the other hand red mostly got longer pecs so it got slight bent at the center part of pecs.
