redcross HELP!: Growth on scales - PICS provided

RTG, approximately 17inches. tagged in '05 AUG. tankmates: 4x 3inch parrots added about 10 days ago and 1x silver dollar which was used to cycle the tank a year back

discovered the growth 5 days back. Aro seemed to be in good cond. except for no appetite. changed water and OHF wool before I left for Batam on FRI.

just got back today. it has gotten worse and im pretty anxious right now. However she has a little appetite now and has eaten quite a alot of worms.

Im going to change 20% water and clean up whatever i can.

here are some pics. I hope the experts here are able to help me.

Hi,
1) WC 20% if not done past 3 days
2) Add 4 tablespoon of salt
3) Turn on heater (30deg)
4) Turn on powerhead
5) Turn off pump for abt 15mins
6) Stop feeding for time being.
U see result in next 2 days!

i think this is fungus due to jumping and wound area develop fungus. follow as method advised by bros above and maintain gd water quality. if if doesn't clear, then try any anti fungus meds - melafix is good.

i dunno if the too much salt is really good

i recently added one handful of salt into my 4' cabinet tank....the slt sink to the bottom of the tank and took few minutes to disolve in the water.

my 12" ST suddenly stopped swimming and went to the bottom of the tank and started breathing very heavily.

luckiily nothing serious happened.

you should only add in salt while changing water..

stir and dissolve the salt into the water before adding into tank.
