Protruding Scale (not scales)
Hi everyone
I noticed last night that my new aro had one scale (see pic) protruding out about 2mm (i cant seem to see what's beneath the protrusion). No other physical marks on the rest of the body. It doesnt look like it jumped etc. Great appetite and actively swimming. I added 1kg salt in my tank (7ft) for starters. I suspect either parasite or oddball case of bang something in tank. Can anyone gimme an idea as to what it could be and how to 'fix' it ? Unfortunately, my 1st pic of my new aro is when it has this condition Thanks everyone |

Look like just a bending scale, do you think may be it jump and hit something so the scale meant to be drop but no drop.... it is not dropsy, I reckon if it dropsy ALL scale would be protruded coz the body is swollen. keep maintain and monitor it, might be just go away.

Yup. Hope its not dropsy. Do a check on water parameters also just to make sure that the water is ok.

Could it be the earlier stage of dropsy? maybe some experienced bro/sis can advise?

Not to worry too much on the condition of the fish. Did you see this after doing water change the day before?
I have experience in this before. Just add some salt and it will be back to normal in a couple of days. |
