Help! My Anus Hurts!
Hi BROS....
My 11inch red is suffering from protruding anus since the CNY. Checked on the threads here, and some bros stopped feeding and the illness was okay after a few days. When i first discovered this ailment on my red, i stopped feeding for 3-4days. i was beginning to see improvements...and it was gone after 5 days. So i started to feed after that.....although it never eat as much as before already. I think somehow the ailment affect its appetite. Just 2 days back, it seems like it look listless and not too keen on eating again....and soon enough, i noticed that the protruding anus showed itself again yesterday evening. Now, i really wanna get a medication to treat him. Can anyone tell me what shd i get? i have an Endi and motoro ray in the tank also.....wondering if the administering of the medication will affect them adversely. I will appreciate if bros here can recommend any Vet whom i can get the medication from. |

What staple diet your aro is on? If on dry shrimp, stop! Meantime, maintain good water quality.
Dun worry so much, bro. |

The protruding anus can take a 1 week to over a month to cure depending on how big the injury is and if it was infected. The injury can be sustained from sharp things that the aro ate which cause a wound internally.
Good water parameter and keeping the water high in dissolved oxygen will help the injury and avoid infection. If you suspect that an infection exists, you may need soome anti inflammatory or anti bacterial medicine. If the would is health, the protrusion will definitely retreat. There are cases where it does not retreat fully. Feed with "soft" food in small amounts only. |
