aro gill issue

Bro/sis,

newbie here, want to ask about aro gill that was operated and seems not growing back nicely.
My friend bought 13" Aro that was gill operated (cos of gill curl). It was told that it will grow back nicely.
But unfortunately seems not much development after 2 months with him.

Can any aro expert here help? How long it should grow back?
What happen if not recover after 4-6 months, will it be like that forever?

Gill curl is cause by water parameter changing too greatly at one time. my arowana once have a gill curl, and after operation, it never grow back after one year,

If the gill is cut too much to the hard gill, growing back would take a very long time.
