white feces - low appetite - cure?
just recently brought home a new shelookRed about 3 weeks ago. on the 2nd day i noticed it has white feces (snow white). appetite has not been consistant. sometimes 2-6 SW a day & sometimes eats nothing. it was about 6.5" when i 1st got it and it is now about 8". i think the growth is more from being in good water & a larger tank than from the food it has eaten, since it hasn't eaten much. the feces now have improved to a whitish grey color as i've noticed yesterday.
i'm suspecting it may have intestinal flagellates: heamita and spironucleus. i'm not sure what course of action to take or just don't do anything and let the aro outgrow the symptoms.... water parameter is w/in normal range. i use geo liquid temp is 32C (weather's been hot here lately) any helpful input is appreciated! |

A dose of internal basctiera medication treatment will be good if you suspect it's internal.

i've treated my LH before w/ similar but more serious symptoms using JBL's Spirohexol with very good result. i'm not sure, however, how the aro will react to this. if i have to treat it w/ medication, i would much prefer to use something that has been proven for an aro |

hi guys! sorry for reopening this post!
was just reading aquamedics to know more abt taking care of the health of my fishes i noticed my Oscar is also passing out white feces, does anyone know exactly what it is? in humans, white feces is acholic stools, often related to a gallbladder / bile problem, where bile cannot be secreted into stools properly as i m not familiar with fishes, i just want to find out if anyone knows whether this is the same case with fishes? |
