Talking Stabilizing new rays

Anyone had difficulty stabilizing a new ray?? especially when rays are not eating well.....

recently i've had a new tiger ray which was probably stressed from handling and transfer. she did not eat for a few days, except for 1-2 pcs torsat that was cut and dropped juz under her nose. the pelvic bones at the base of the tail was becoming more significant. this went on for almost 4-5 days .... finally i decided to try to boost her appetite, so went round to a few lfs to get ideas from them. as usual, many are not experiened enough with rays, esp tiger ray - some even suggest that it will die soon ....

anyway, someone advised to intro "fish min" by aquamedic and combine with "arowana appetizer". I did try it out and within 2-3 days, i see the ray was slowly hunting on her own for food. can see the torsat was eaten and she has finally put on some weight .... hopefull by next week she can join her companion in the main tank.

juz sharing ....

What some farms who import rays do when they encounter such situation is to force feed the ray.
They will prepare clean tubifex worms and then force inject them into the ray through the gill opening. The tubifex will go straight into the stomach.

Fish Min is the product name, packed by Aquamedic. it actually multivits for larger fishes (10cm and above). best if ur fish can eat it, otherwise it will dissolve and absorbed thru the gills. use it with my other rays as well, seemed to have an increase in appetite and very active ....

"Arowana Appetizer" (by Baxter Labs) was bought cos my aro not eating well after transfer to another tank. it was suggested to use it together with the Fish Min.

both supplements need to be dose daily ....
