look like quite serious, hope you use water conditioner before adding tap water, also look like fungus to me...
but i think most probably look like abrasion to me , maybe scratch against something, that scrape the skin... |

Maintain good water conditions and it should recover, except that "patch" maybe paler than the rest of the disc colour on recovery. A good indication of a healthy ray is that its active and feeding well. Watch the ray if you feed with feeders as they may also "attack" the white patch. Keep us posted. |

Why no salt?
Here in the US, adding aquarium salt for rays, is normal! Even, the exsperts in books suggest this! Is there a reason why in Asia, not to add salt?
The rays originally come from Latin countries not Asia so what is the reason? |

A bit of salt is ok... I always disolve it before pouring in... never OD less safer than more.... Looks like a bit/nipping from the other ray,, do observe then try using Melafix... I always use salt n Melafix. Also observe if she is eating if yes it's a good sign.... also careful with the water PH if it goes below 5, it can be veri dangerous....
