I'm not sure swim bladder problem can be treated. U probably manage it by keeping the exposed back wet to prevent infection. I don't know how to recommend medication.
If the swimbladder is recent, u may try internal bacteria treatment. Not sure bros here got cure for it. We will discuss it here first. U may want to post at Aquamedic too & see the medic can advise. |

thanks
Thank you all for the concern. I don't know how it happened, but i guess it panicked coz' i found my overhead filter floating on top of the water. I don't think its bloated stomach since its his back that seems full of air that keeps him floating, he tries to swim to the bottom then goes back to its original position. I'll try to get pics if i can, but for now, i still haven't applied any medicine. Thanks to all again and please advise should you have any remedies to this kind of problem.

Hi Cris,
I've experienced that before when my aro tank water almost emptied out. but mine healed by itself i just added a heater to the tank and also lowered the water level in the tank. I think normally happends when the aro injured itself. hope your aro gets well soon. Here's an article regarding how to treat swimmbladder problem in arowanas http://arowanaclub.com/stories.php?s.../03/02/6700203 |
