If incur less than 5 days still can save. Your fish not be able to eat or swim down, slowly it will died. If not wrong the treatment cost about S$200 - 300 & will took a mth plus to recover.

Recently, sump not working so use a small internal filter instead.Water condition was horrible especially whan I feed with chicken breast. The surface collect a thick layer of oil.I use a least 7-8 pcs of newspaper to remove the the oil.

Luckily, the sump was up again and there was improvement in the water quality.

As of yesterday nite, the hunch over was back to normal and able to swim better but not perfectly well.

very heng ...

I did cure my SBP red but it took a lot of time, money and effort. Heat, Befuran, and 1 other medi, heat 31 degrees, religious daily 20% water change (Shack out man!), cos of the size of my tank, even lower to 1/4 tank height, cos of medicine was and it as saved at last........................ Unfortunately months later he broke through the partition into another BIG red's compound and got KILLED! sigh.... end of story...

But I heard SBP oso depend on the reason it became SBP, many told me that it can't be saved, but I tried damn hard cos it's a thosand dollar red so cost will be justified.... or unless sentimental, or responsibility to save the aro...

Good that your aro is good now

sbp due to swallow air & trapped in stomach can cure, but take some time ...

sbp due to bacterial disease, if not treated promptly, can be very difficult to cure ....

so far, from my experience, those that swallow air was cured after sometime ...
