My arowana is sick and dying, i need help please...
My dad accidently mixed the water with soap. My aro's gills began to bleed soon after and we changed almost all the tank water and added salt. Its been 2 days now and i do not know whether it is getting better. I can see her swim more often than earlier. But now her fins are getting red and i don't know what is going on with her. Can someone please identify her illness and is there any ways to save her??? She has been 2 years with us, i do not want to loss her... Please... help me... |

put some activated carbon into your OHF ... that should absorb most of the soap compounds ... remember to remove this after 1 month
Black water may not work well with activated carbon .. but it does reduce stress for the aro prior fully absorbed by activated carbon. Heater "may help" when raised to 28 degrees ... do note that its a double edged sword ... higher dissolved oxygen along with higher metabolism ... but aro might get stressed due to change of environment parameters. Stress guard or aloe vera juice will assist in healing of gills ... but may clutter or result in poor water parameters shall one be on the "blur" side ... There's no perfect solution ... ultimately is to observe ... decide and weigh which is the best solution ... and apply them correctly .. Last but not least ... u'll need luck ... Cheers

Thanks Sotongman. I will try aloe vera juice, but i do not know about activated carbon and black water. But the bleeding of her is getting serious, yesterday her fin was not that red, and today i can see somekind of internal bleeding... Is this a recovery or it is getting serious?
Yes Kaellis, we've added anti-cholrine and best possible solution for her recovery... |
