Default Black Goldfish Turning Silver

Hi Bros,

The scales on My Black goldfish recently started to turn silver in color and behavior is lethargic and sluggish. Does anyone know what's the matter with it and any cure?

Thanks,
Jason

Bro, discoloration and color variation in goldfishes seem quite common. There are many reasons to these, more commonly due to chromatophores (pigment cells) that regulate the hormones. U may have noticed goldfish fries come in a variety of colors but when they grow, their colors changes. Yet sometimes it is reversed, e.g. it is not uncommon to see panda looses all its black and become white. Under such circumstances, they are usually healthy saved for the color changes.

But sickness, change of food, mal-nutritional, and incorrect water chemistry may also cause discoloration either fading or darkening. From yr description, yr fish may be sick. So try checking water parameters n monitor its diet to keep it healthy, but it is hard to reverse the color change.
