manual regulator co2 fluctuates.

as above.. anyone noticed? i use manaul regulator with co2 tank for the 2nd time already. as usual. for example i put 3bps for a start.. after 2 hours, it drops down to 1bps only.. any idea why issit so? is there anyway i can do other than change to a solenoid to have a constant rate of co2 coming out? if its fluctuating alot.. its no difference for DIY co2..

Hi bro, i have also experienced this before, usually for manual regulator its quite difficult to control the bps. You might think that you have set it at 3 bps but you may already have over tightened the regulator and after sometime, the pressure in the tube drop already, then the BPS will slow down.
I've ever experienced back flow of water once or twice.
After that, i just keep my manual regulator turned on 24/7. As it is quiet hard to achieve the same rate every time you turn it on manually. If you really want, you can set it at a certain BPS and monitor it for a few hours. If it remains constant, just turn off the MAIN VALVE.
End of the day though, a solenoid will save all your trouble.

problem is, even if co2 is turn on 24/7 the bps coming gets lower and lower..

you might need to have a needle valve to fine tune your setting?
if not then it should stablize after a while.. if drops then open a little and then wait again..

tested a few times liao.. set to 2bps.. only 1 hour, it drops to like 0.5bps. or issit because co2 running low in the tank?

There is a gauge on the manual regulator. What is the reading?

Pls correct me if I am wrong. But I would think that the supply from the tank to the regulator should be constant even if CO2 in the main tank is dropping (Unless your CO2 tank is empty).

slightly below 1000.
previous owner says still got abit co2 inside.. the drop of co2 bubble is quite drastic.. i have to tune it back to 2bps every hour.

I was going through the hassel manually on/off the manual regulator, everyday.

Sometime forget to on and sometime forget to off. Bps also drop after a few hours after I set it. After a while, I gave up on the manual regulator as I think it is no good to have inregular timing and volume of CO2 running in the tank everyday.

Got myself a solenoid one, connect it to the same timer as my lightings. Problem solved once and for all.

I think there should be quite a lot of CO2 left in the tank.

Sigh.. i remembers it happen to my previous manual regulator also. low on budget to get a solenoid now. haha..
