are you refering to

Slim type = compact digital cam or point & Shoot cam

Bulky type = DSLR cam

FYI, you can take good shot even with certain point & shoot cam as long as the set up & technique is right & DSLR doesn't always give you good result if the set up is wrong.

I am using the big and bulky DSLR but I have seen ppl use the compact with amazing results. You have to learn to use the camera properly.

there are many beginner grade DSLR by various power house. if u haven got a weapon (p and s or DSLR) can consider those beginner series as the price difference is not that big. like the sifus has pointed out, the camera is just a body, u need heavy lens, heavy flash and heavy creativity

What you think of Sony NEX-5? Kinda fall between a compact and bulky DSLR. Anyone here using and any comments?
