Too add on .. Currently my tank is cycling so all this discus is staying in a tub now.. I do about 90% water change everyday. Ammonia lvl n nitrite lvl is low have no idea with the ph as I dun have ph test kit. I add in prime to my tapwater before introducing the water to the tub. Please advise! Thanks

Hi bro, good if you can post a pic of the black discus so bros here can give a better treatment.
Remember not to anyhow test medication at this moment. if trying different medication, add 1 at a time and the next one 2-3days later. let the discus rest. If full body is black whole day, you can try Oceanfree No. 1 Super Cure. If on and off black, it should be just stressed that's all. - all fishes new from ONE source? new discus usually will hide corner because of new environment, usually hide together and not away from the crowd. - how long has it been like that? - is the fish inactive? - any white poos? must take care of PH & water temperature fluctuation when doing water change 90% water change since they are still in tub, you can do (3 x 30%) change at about 10-15mins interval. it should lessen the stress to the discus. use your hand to feel the water in the tub & the new water. just imagine when you walk out of an air con room and suddenly into the hot sun... |

Hi bro skuru, so far I have not added any form of medication yet.. I purely added 1 tpsoon of salt during every wc. I do not is it considered as on or off maybe I can put it this way that it will turn black when inactive ( most of the time).. I also notice its appetite is very poor. It has been like that for about 1 wk. And Yes all my fish is from 1 source. Thanks for the suggestion , I will try doing seperate 30% water change at intervals. Sorry for not paragraphing.. Using my iPhone to reply..

Welcome bro, hope your LSS can recover.
If it's long term black must cure quickly if not once reach full term the LSS will become "Chao Ta" - blackie, then no cure by that time. you can google for black discus. You'll see many examples. Try Oceanfree Super Cure. It may help. Best if you're able to visit some discus LFS like Chai or other specialist nearby. oh ya... maybe this will help you have more info about black disease. http://www.clcdiscus.com/Discus-Black-Disease.html do keep us updated. hope seniors can help too! |

Hiding, not eating, everytime facing the same angle, most likely having internal issues. Get it's internal flush out with internal medication and see if it can recover.
