care to share wat causes ur catfish chew chew to Split, Bend, crooked, broken...etc

I feel like cutting the damage chew chew away but I was so scared of stressing the fish...
Any better idea and cure?

I have experienced the chew chew rot. Rot until very short. I didn't bother about it and after that it grew back.
