Aro red and swollen scale PLS HELP!
Dear AF bros, sincerely need advise and inputs as to what could be the cause of my aro suddenly developing a red and swollen scale in just 1 day.
My tank water parameters are fine and ph is registering 6.5, its other tank mates are a juve TFB and a FF. They are unlikely suspects and the FF is highly terrorized by the aro. Appetite is so-so and still eating and looks fine. The scale is bright red along the rims, has some kind of shed skin like snakeskin on the scale itself and when viewed from the back of the aro, can clearly see that the scale is popped out. Only 1 scale has this problem. Could it be the aro knocked against something and got injured? or is it a fungal infection? I've already added salt into the tank to see it it helps. Would be happy to hear some advices from the bros here in AF. Pls help! Pics below: |

It could be both. Since u've add salt (epsom?), probably u need to add a heater setting to 32 degree to deter any further damages. Monitor a couple of days to see if become better, if not, then u shd try BuFuran medication. hoped your aro will recover soon. |

Looks like bacteria infection.
Wat you can do now are wc 20% on alternate days, put in a heater set at 30 degrees and add salt every WC. No feeding if possible. |

Thks for the gd advises bro harry and spotted. I also think it's an infection? Have added salt salt already. Should I add medication? I got no hospital tank and would not want the filtration to be affected. Are there any meds that have no adverse effects on these??
