Anyone know if my arowana is suffering from tail rot ? i added salt to 0.3% and did 20% water change every 2-4 days . Any other ways to cure ? I saw some very tiny worms wiggering in my tank , they are super small and thin , are those harmful to my arowana? Tank Size 3x1.5x1.5 , aro main diet mealworm and sometimes small guppies(quarantined) . Nomally weekyly water change . |

i'm no pro, but have a knack it's chlorine burn. though i hope is not.
please tell us: - how many % water change - any dechlorinator / dechloramintor used, and amount - method of water change (direct tap to tank) - behaviour of aro during water change (e.g. like to swim under the freshly input water, etc) |

ps for super late reply x.x
ph is 6.5 i nomally fill water in a pail and add conditional , i abit kiasu so i overdose abit . i use a net to stir it , after 5min i transfer all water over . nomally if its weekly i will change 40% . but now every 2-3 days i change 20% . because my arowana only swim at the ohf output area , i pour all into the other side . so it do not scare my aro |

- type of water conditioner (does it treat both chlorine and chloramine? - no complaints on the physical method u pre-treat tap water before pouring it in. Overdose is ok as confirmed by the conditioners' makers and bros' exp. - possible to up PH gradually (add coral chips / oyster shells)? 7.0 to 7.5 would be good. - quarantine can only do so much. please stop feeders to eliminate one possible pt of infection (if it is). - other possibility is that it jumped and hurt its fin slightly. hope is this as it will be most minor in terms of adverse effects. more exp hobbyists kindly advise further m _ _ m |

I suggest: - feed 80% full max (for me this means when i see very slight bulge of belly) - change to Market Prawn diet, cleaner, more economical and nutritious (fat free) - upgrading filtration if needed (may i noe wad filtration u using?) - getting bottom dwelling tankmates to clean up food bits - cleaning your filter (bio compartments partial, mech compartments total) |
