My first forey into Black base ray - BD Henlei

Dear fellow Ray fanatics;

I had always admire and secretly wished to obtain a black base SP / Black ray to go into my 433 tank.

3 years back, I was first introduced to rays by Tay from this forum.
I was a new father, shifted to my new home and financially not ready to own or purchase a good ray.

Tay had been ultra patient and he guide me along into ray keeping, and other useful tips.

I was totally convinced and i bought a pair of SP rays from him. 1 after another.
Though the pricing was cheap based on then market, the quality was never compromised.
The pair i bought home looked exactly like a designer pair and they glide effortlessly in my tank.

Fast forward 2 years later, in 2012 they had grown pretty big and beautiful. Been a hobbyist and a Aro lover, i used them to exchanged for an arowana.

Perhaps it's not to be; the aro failed to settle in my comm tank and all hell broke loose, my other aros all started WW3 and 1 after another - fin torn barbel lost and injuries follow

I shouldn't have disturb the peace afterall...

Fast forward 1 year again, in August this year and after seeing many nice rays been offered by Tay, I decide to approach him for advice with a given budget.
His sales service was excellent, he still remember me and the 2 rays which i bought from him.

After some discussion, he offered me a Black Diamond Henlei at a very good price.

This thread serves to be my ray keeping journal and the progress for this little fellow.

Nice pair of ray.. Yap i agrees with you.. the service and advice given by Tay is always there.. i've bought rays from him too..

A good quality of BD Henlei that you have gotten from Tay.

I have also met Tay and I really impressEd by his professionalism and a very friendly and helpful person to be a friend.

Do take good care and your BD Henlei can match up to the video which you saw in the YouTube.
